why don’t cricket fans get as excited as football fans? Is it because they’re posh? well played, chap, etc.?
it's a serious question actually. I just can't imagine watching a footie match and hearing people saying stuff like that. "Jolly good show, Stevie, you managed to outwit the goalie there". We'd just say, GOAL!!!!!!!!!
and it lasts for about 11 days (with tea breaks of course)
actually you need to understand the rules of football to really enjoy the game.

Where have all these football fans come from?
Anyway, I couldn’t possible answer your question as you watch Association Football and are therefore an uncultured savage, you couldn’t possible understand the joys of cricket, what what.
because cricket doesnt use as much energy.. doesnt need as much fitness and doesnt pump as much adrenaline
because most cricket fans are in there 90’s. Or there to drink to even care.
Don’t worry, they are coming along (at a slow pace) THERE IS HOPE - the players have started kissing each other.
Cricket isn’t an exciting game - the bowler runs up to the crease, throws the ball & the guy with the bat attempts to hit it. The whole process lasts about 10 seconds & then you have to wait at least a minute or two before the action starts again. Hardly a fast-moving action-packed game to get excited about really.
because deep down they know that cricket isn’t that cool.
there weird no efence
LMAO!! I think the reason is because these poor people have been sitting in their seats for a mind numbingly long time (cricket last ages you know) and if they got excited anytime their man won anything they’d be totally knackered by the end of the day! They need to conserve their energy for more worthy pursuits - like wandering over to the bar or snack stand! You can tell I’m not a sporty person can’t you?!
pretty much beacsuse cricket is a slow paced game u really have to love the game to watch it other wise in football its fast paced and u dont have to understand the game to watch it
Because we are all sophisticated in cricket
People who watch cricket are not like that, well a lot of them that’s just a sterotype. It is the biggest sport in India and Pakistain they go crazy for it.
Cause there aren’t any theatrics in cricket.Watching football is akin to a soap opera.
We play a tough sport, footballers are pansies.=p I mean a nudge would have them reeling on the ground for at least 5 minutes.I don’t see any reason why you should get excited over that.Cricket,on the other hand, is deadly and so we appreciates both the teams playing.
To the first answerer, poor deluded person. Because of the length of a cricket match it requies great stamina, patience & intelligence, none of which most footballers possess. As MetalG says, football is like a Soap Opera, & a low budget one at that.
To answer your question, foot ball is a much faster game, shorter game, where speed, stamina and endurance is order of the game. That being the case, its natural to get exited because of the sudden turn around of events.Another thing I would like to add, is it may be theatrical but thats not the reason why its so exciting. The amount of running you do in football in 90 mins is way higher than several hours of cricket
Sorry to offend you cricket fans, feel free to thumb me down
i’m a cricket fan and though cricket may not be exciting to you it’s actually a relaxing game for us. I dont think I’m posh in any form I yell I scream when bowlers have cost our team runs and our fielders go to sleep or when we lose wickets. And you do have a point about understanding the game of football you have also understand a game of cricket.
Says that you haven’t been to a cricket match.
BTW, getting excited and going wild & frenetic is two different stuffs. Cricket fans are more sensible and knows to how to behave (there are exceptions).
Cricket is the gentlemen’s game, and not for street fighters.
Crowds will react differently watching different sports. Ever been to a tennis match, nobody even talks. I would rather watch cricket any day, I think the average footie fan doesn’t seem to have much idea what is happening and will cheer for anything.
cricket isnt play fast and with continuation as soccer
it has nothing to do with fun or energy, and cricket used to have great number of audience and white peope from AUS and UK clap they dont even scream.and indians and pakistanis used to cheer more than any sport and then india made these state team matches which made every thing fake…..
1994 in Australia ashes series at Sydney.15,000 Brits watching and about 5000 beating up the Aussies in the stands. The british flag was raised and aussis one burnt as Britain took the hill from Aussies. All this with the cricket continuing and the other 10,000 chanting barmy army.Who said we lack passion
