Why do people enjoy watching football (soccer)?
It's so boring and the players are total wussies. All they do is kick a ball around a field what is entertaining about watching that. I saw one part of a game my friend was watching and one player kicked Ronaldo (not very hard) on the shin where he was wearing SHIN PADS and he fell over crying. Ref blew whistle gave his team a free kick and Ronaldo stood up and was perfectly alright. How is that skillful? That's like cheating! It can be fun to PLAY football yourself but I just don't get whats so great about watching it and why people get so obsessed over it. I'd rather watch rugby which is way more exciting and things actually happen.
Oh yeah that's another thing. They get paid more in a day or week than most people earn in a whole year or more. Just to kick a ball around a field in front of people. To play a game.
TBH I'm only getting one sided argument because only people who like football come into this section.

Well to be fair, its a matter of opinion. I love football and always will. As for them getting paid more in a day etc, I do agree it’s ridiculous the amount they earn for doing something so simple and something they love but hey what can you do!
You need to play Soccer and understand the skill that goes into solo runs as well as great team performances. It is much more fun to watch if it is a team that you really love, i.e. your country of origin, and you have friends over to watch! Great goals, passes and saves are the things to look out for. Not every living second of the game has to wow your pants off, there has to be some build up play!
Some people like to watch football to see if their favorite team wins the match. It is a lot more enjoyable if you go to see the game, as there is a massive atmosphere. Watching on t.v when you do not support either team is not very interesting in my opinion, unless you wish to see high ranking players, showing off their stuff/

Because it is quite exciting (at least for me).Everyone have different likes and dislikes.Besides , all sports have something to do with touching a ball.Basket?Some people are touching a ball with their arms.Nothing special.Soccer?Some people are kicking a ball.Nothing special at all but it doesn’t need to have something special to like it.
Well football must have something that other sports don’t or it wouldn’t be the most popular sport in the world. Maybe some people just can’t see it. But obviously they are in the minority.

Some guys just watch it because it is easy to follow and they haven’t got the mental capacity to follow anything more complex, and it is just something to get over-reactive about whilst drinking, although if you are in a bar with people and you see them over reacting it is fun to go up to them and take the piss! And they just get paid too much for being stupid twats with no brain and a powerful right ot left foot, people with degrees get less money than them! Rugby is better cause the rules are better and there is more action!

well i think it’s fun to watch because u get to see the skills of these professionals , sometimes i wonder why they r very highly paid, but when i watch a nice game, the answer’s there. Besides , if u analyze the way teams play, u’ll understand why it’s fun, the way players implement the tactic, the way they try to deactivate the other team’s tactic. Just change ur perspective when u watch a game, choose a high-profiled match and enjoy the game with a beer and u’ll definitely understand why it’s fun to watch it !!
It’s a matter of opinion.
Rugby is more gay than football, they stop half way through for cuddle sin the middle of the pitch, stick their head up each other arses and feel each others backside during a throw in!
Football is far better than rugby, that’s whyy players get paid far more. Rugby is for failed footballers who can’t run for more than 5 minutes at a tme and like running into brick walls in their spare time.
There’s no need to put that American term in parentheses. If they don’t understand what sport you are referring to, then they need an education, which is not your responsibility.
People watch football to cheer their team on to victory. It is exciting to watch your team overcome the struggle to score a goal against the opposition. If it was too easy to score goals at will, then it wouldn’t be interesting. But since the goal is well defended by the defense and goalkeeper, once your team can breakthrough and score the goal, it is euphoric.
