How is a tv satellite manoeuvred?
Is it just by the gravity from the Earth? Or did I get that wrong?

Satellites are maneuvered generally using thrusters mounted around the bus (the "vehicle" carrying the satellite tv payload). Some satellites have special thrusters called Ion propulsion thrusters, which expel mass at very high velocities to gain more acceleration. To change a satellite's "attitude" or its orientation, momentum wheels are used to spin the satellite.
Earth's gravity keeps it in orbit.
