I really want to go there but its too far from my place. I live 50 mins away from Toronto (by car) so that's more convenient for me but I do not want to watch the Toronto Maple Leafs unless they face the Habs, of course.

I have never watched hockey...I find it difficult to follow what is going on. The records are kept with 4 numbers...like team Canada thus far in the Olympics is 1-1-0-1. I only know the first two are wins and losses, and I know one of the other two is tie.

I just started watching hockey and I'm becoming a big fan. It's the first sport that's actually interests me besides wrestling, which i stopped watching. Anyways I know the basics and stuff and learned it pretty quickly but a lot there's a lot of things I don't know. I've been following the penguins just because I like them the best right now but I'm from NY. Anyone have any tips or little things I should know about the sport?

I'm specifically interested in watching the Canada games while I'm on business. I am working in Palo Alto and staying in South San Francisco, I have a rental car so can theoretically drive anywhere. Can't find any Canadian bars and the official "Molson Canadian Hockey House" is like /pp per match!

You know, the water bottles that are on top of the net for the goalie to drink out of. When I watch old hockey highlights from the Original Six era I never see this. Does anyone have any ideas of how this began or when it started???

In the past 12 years I've been to several minor league games (Houston Aeros) and noticed random strobe light flashes. If you watch NHL hockey on TV, you'll notice they also have a random strobe light. It's way too bright to be a flash bulb from a camera in the audience. These strobes are in the rafters and will light up the ice and everything else. They go off usually when there's lots of action near the goals.

I know several people have asked this question and all the answers i read (several pages) had answers with bs links. Is there anywhere to watch them for real? I mean, I know there are several games on tv on NBC, MSNBC, etc but not all of them. And seriously - who the hell picks the games for these networks? Did they really just show the China v Finland womens hockey game over the Russia v Latvia game?! Not trying to be a sexist jerk, I watch the US and Canadians womens games, but China is TERRIBLE! And since it's a tie game halfway through the second period Finland must suck too!
