I just had installed a wireless cable modem and it sits within 1 foot of my satellite receiver box. The receiver has since been constantly losing signal, while my other tv in another room with it's own receiver has been doing fine. I have tried to power down both the modem and the satellite receiver with no luck. Any solutions?

A tall bldg next to my apt bldg blocks the entire southern sky. Everyone in my bldg has been forced to get cable because historically, all of the tv satellites were in the southern sky. Have any satellites been added or moved to another part of the sky? FYI, I'm in southern California.

I am in Canada and I know the U.S. has much more TV programming available to them through satellite that we can't get up here. They debated about forcing Cable and Satellite companies to give consumers choice about the channels they wanted instead of Consumers being forced by cable and satellite companies to pay for channels they never watch. The local cable company has a nice basic cable package with about 25 channels but half of them I wouldn't even watch so I still get my TV over the air. I don't see the point in paying for channels I won't watch.
