Anyone can do anything. You may not however, get a super14 Contract
you play if u want but its a bit rough haha
Don’t do it if you’re a wimp.
Please don’t
a friend of ours had nearly broken his neck whilst playing (for New Zealand)
and is now here, in england, coaching for the rest of his life,
so be aware of the consequences if you are seriously considering it as a proffession
But as a hobby it’s great and you’ll get muscly
You are not too old to start. I actually was speaking to a guy on saturday and he told me he started at around 30. You should just get yourself down to your local rugby club. There you can ask the coach what is the best position for you as he can see all of your attributes.
Best thing you can do is to go to a couple of games at your local club, get talking to a few people ans they’ll tell you training nights. The majority of clubs are always scrambling about to find players for 3rds/4ths etc, so you’ll be playing before you know where you are.
If you’re not too confident yet, don’t ask about playing straight away or you’ll be found a pair of boots and before you know it……
I started playing rugby at 28 and have been playing for 4 years now. It is a great sport. There is always a risk of injury but no more then any other sport. When you join a team, they will help you in selecting your position. Good luck and welcome to the sport.
